Expert Fence Maintenance in New Braunfels, TX

Fence maintenance in New Braunfels takes more than a quick visual check. The Hill Country's mix of rocky limestone soil, clay patches, intense UV exposure, and sudden heavy rains puts real stress on posts, panels, and gates every season. At Schmidt Improvement and Repair, we inspect your fence from post to rail, looking for leaning sections, warped boards, loose hardware, rust, and soft or shifted footings. We tighten what's loose, reset what's shifted, and treat surfaces that are starting to show weather wear. New Braunfels homeowners deal with soil that can shift with moisture changes, which causes posts to lean or sink over time. Catching those problems early keeps a small fix from turning into a full replacement. Whether your fence runs along a flat yard or a sloped lot, we work with what your property actually looks like. Call Schmidt Improvement and Repair to schedule a fence maintenance visit in New Braunfels.

FAQ

Fence Maintenance FAQ

Common questions about fence maintenance in New Braunfels, TX.

How do I know if my fence in New Braunfels needs maintenance or a full replacement?

Maintenance is usually the right call when posts are still solid and damage is limited to panels, hardware, or surface wear. If the majority of posts are rotted or the structure has shifted significantly, replacement may make more sense.

Does rocky Hill Country soil affect how fence posts hold up over time?

Yes, New Braunfels soil varies from hard limestone to softer clay, and both can cause posts to shift or settle unevenly. Regular inspections catch post movement before it spreads to the rest of the fence.

Can Schmidt Improvement and Repair handle fence maintenance on a sloped yard?

Yes, we work on sloped and uneven lots throughout New Braunfels. Sloped terrain puts extra stress on certain posts and panels, so we pay close attention to those areas during every visit.

What parts of a fence does routine maintenance typically cover?

We check posts, rails, panels, gate hardware, hinges, latches, and surface condition on every maintenance visit in New Braunfels. Any section showing wear, movement, or damage gets addressed directly.

How often should New Braunfels homeowners schedule fence maintenance?

Once a year is a practical baseline for most New Braunfels properties, with an additional check after a major storm. Intense summer heat and heavy seasonal rains can accelerate wear between visits.

Does Schmidt Improvement and Repair work on all fence types in New Braunfels?

We perform maintenance on wood, metal, and other common residential fence types found throughout New Braunfels. Contact us to confirm we can service your specific fence before scheduling.

His craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent, and he truly takes pride in his work. He’s reliable, professional, easy to communicate with, and made the entire process so easy from start to finish. Everything turned out exactly how we envisioned it, if not better! It’s hard to find someone you completely trust with projects in your home, and we absolutely trust him. We will definitely be using him again for future projects and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for quality work. Highly recommend!
